In a shocking incident, an off-duty woman constable, identified as Pammi Khatoon, was shot while capturing reels on her phone camera along Patna's JP Ganga Path, also known as Patna's Marine Drive.
The incident occurred around 10 pm when Khatoon, accompanied by her friend, sub-inspector Shabana Azmi, was creating social media content. Two unidentified men on a motorcycle approached them under the guise of asking for directions. Suddenly, one of the men brandished a firearm and fired at Khatoon, causing a bullet injury to her hand.
While the motive behind the attack remains unclear, Deputy Superintendent of Police KB Prasad suggested that a personal dispute might have triggered the incident. Khatoon, posted at Patna police lines, was rushed to the hospital and is reported to be out of danger.
In a separate case, a 20-year-old man named Sunny Kumar was fatally shot by unidentified assailants near his house in Babu Tola, Makhania Kuan, at 11 pm on the same evening.
